Are Headaches And Vomiting Post Injury Suggestive Of Concussion?
Hi Dr. Rynne My 4yo fell and hit her head today around 4pm. When she came home she said she fells tire , her head hurts and she want to take a nap. Now it s 5hrs later she threw up once and asleep. Her temputure is normal. Is this a concussion? Should I take her to the hospital?
Any head injuries that result in symptoms like loss of consciousness, nausea, vomiting, bleeding from any orifices, blurred vision, disorientation, nystagmus, headaches, drowsiness, etc; should be reported to a doctor at the earliest. So yes, I would recommend a visit to the doctor.
Best wishes.
