Hello, I am 12 and half weeks pregnant and my TSH level is 6.40. Prior to this I was never diagnosed with Thyroid. My doctor has prescribed me Thyronorm 50 at bedtime, which I am taking diligently. I just need to know if hot flashes are a side effect of this medicine, as I have been excessively feeling hot during day time. Thanks J

When given in slightly larger doses thyronorm can cause increased nervousness, tremors, heat intolerance, sweating, increased heart beats, palpitation, and hot flashes.
Increased nervousness, tremors, heat intolerance, sweating, palpitation tachycardia, unexplained weight loss which are the symptoms of overactive thyroid.
You are advised to consult your treating doctor to adjust the dose of thyronorm in a such a way to have the TSH level in the optimal range of 0.5 – 2.5 mIU/L.
