Are Lack Of Balance And Lightheadedness While Having Enlarged Heart A Cause For Concern?

I am 78 year old man. I have diabetes and CHF. I recently just got over a cold. I did have a chest xray done last week, that showed an enlarged heart, nothing else. Recently, the past few weeks, I ve become very unbalanced, lightheaded when sitting down or walking. I have been checked for UTI and that was negative. I can not get into my cardiologist until June 5th. I m concerned?

Hi,

Lack of balance and lightheadedness can have varied reasons ranging from heart, brain, blood and ears. Keeping in mind your age and medical history none can be ruled out. Recommended you to visit ER rather than waiting for your cardio appointment and get thoroughly examined.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Sonia Dhawan, Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist
