Are Oral Thrush And Sore Throat Post Unprotected Sex Signs Of HIV?
hello doctor. i am 20 years old male and i have type 1 diabetes since 2011 and 7 weeks ago i had unprotected vaginal sex with a sexworker and now i have some rashes wich maybe due fungal infections cause a doctor told me they are fungus and oral thrush and sore throat so am I at risk of being hiv positive? please help me
As per your complain it seems that you are suffering from fungal infection only and as you are diabetic, and diabetes reduces immunity which makes an individual more prone to infections..
As far as HIV is concerned it does not become symptomatic so early and can take years to show up symptoms..
I would therefore suggest you to consult an Oral Physician or Infectious disease specialist and get evaluated and you can be advised antifungal medication like Nystatin mouthwash, Clotrimazole lozenges and Oral antifungal medication like Fluconazole, Itraconazole etc..
You should also get your blood sugar levels monitored and along with it if you suspect HIV you can get ELISA test done..
Hope this ..
Regards..
