My 75 year old aunt had a stent placed on Friday. yesterday afternoon she started having palpitations that went on through the night. She still had them this morning so she went to the emergency room. Her cardiologist took some tests and told her everything looked normal. Are palpitations common after stent surgery?
Thanks for consulting the Physicians at HealthCare Magic. I have worked through your case thoroughly, and I can easily realize your health worries. Being your physician, I reassure you not to worry as things will settle down very soon. Not so common but may happen sometimes. We have to run some tests to know the cause of that. It may be some conduction pathway defect that is totally a separate incident not related to Stenting. May be its reperfusion injury after restoration of the blood supply to the affected muscles of heart.
May you get very well soon and have a wonderful time ahead. Please don't forget to give your valuable feedback to help us assist you in a better way. Click at 'I Find This Answer Helpful' & give a five Stars too. Write a review about your experience with me.
