Are Pricking Heart Sensations After A Quadruple Bypass Procedure A Concern?

Hi * years ago I had a quadruple by-pass and have been fine apart from a shortness of breath after exercise or a walk. I am down for a pacemaker/defibulater but this last week I have experienced more and more pins and needles sensation in my heart area. Should I worry? Regards Allan

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Sometimes surgery in the area of heart and chest wall damages small nerves of that area which leads to pin n prick sensations. It is not going to harm you. No need to worry.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Loveleen Sharma, General & Family Physician
