Baby's abnormal chromosome can due to maternal or paternal genetic error or it can be an error during fertilization of normal ovum & sperm.
More than 50% misscarriage in first trimester are due to unknown causes, some are due to chromosomal abnormality & some due to infection.
So consult your Doctor for further work up.
