Are Scanty Periods Caused By Thickening Of Endometrium?

issue : I get scanty periods. I take progynova twice a day from my 2nd day of period as per doctor's suggestion .

15 day of my period : endometrium thickness 7.9
18 day : 8.3
22 day :8.4
Can you suggest me whether this is causing me scanty or anything else ? Since 6 yrs i am suffering with this problem .But i get my periods on regular cycle

I am so sorry to hear about this scanty periods. Please, what are you taking progynova for? Is there any known reason(s) to you why you should be taking this drug?

Thick endometrium is not a possible cause of scant periods. However, scanty periods can lead to thick endometrium. This is because, is the endometrium does not slough off and pass out as menses, you shall observe scanty periods and this in itself would lead too a thickened endometrium.

There are several possible causes. Infections, synechia, hormonal imbalance, no real cause, etc may explain this. Only a careful medical evaluation can identify any real cause if there is any. Please, follow up with your OBGYN and ask for answers to this.
