Are Sore Throat And Cough Symptoms Of Bronchitis Or Pneumonia?
At the end of December I had a sore throat and a cough. I took a zpak antibiotic and seemed to be better for about a week. Then last Sunday I got a head cold and also has moved into my chest with a lot of coughing. I m coughing up some. Just wondering if it could be bronchitis or pneumonia? I ve taken Delsym for it. I m on BP Cholesterol and thyroid meds. Thank you
I think you might have bronchitis. You have already taken antibiotic Zpak so, now it's time to relieve your airways. Should take:
- mucolytic to dissolve phlegm
- antihistamine before bedtime to ease coughing
- apply vapour rub to help open airways at night
- apply nasal spray to open nasal airways
- raise your head from shoulders to ease breathing
- run aerosol therapy to ease breathing.
If this won't help, should consult further with your caring doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini,
