Are Stomach Cramps And Diarrhea Symptoms Of Food Poisoning?
My husband may have gotten food poisoning. His main symptom is stomach cramps. They were severe but have lessened. It started last Sunday after eating at a restaurant. He is still having cramps just not as severe. He had diarrhea to start but that has gone away. Now just the cramping. Does that sound like food poisoning?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain the symptoms of stomach cramps, diarrhoea after eating outside food can be due to stomach infection or food poisoning and it seems to be a cause in your husband's case.. As the symptoms have started getting milder spontaneously of their own you need not to take any medication and you can take Loperamide or Furazolidone to relieve loose motions.. Drink plenty of fluids and also take oral rehydration salts to recover for electrolyte loss.. For stomach cramps you can take anti spasmodics.. Take more of probiotics like Yoghurt in diet.. Take a soft ad light diet..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
