Are The Suspicious Densities In The Left Upper Lung Field Concerning?

Suspicious densities are seen in the left upper lung field. The trachea is in the midline. The heart is not enlarged. The pulmonary vessels are within normal limits. Both hemidiaphragms are distinct. The osseous thoracic cage reveals no significant bony abnormality.

Hi,

Suspicious densities in the upper lung fields on imaging may be due to many reasons like infections, may be pneumonia or tuberculosis. These may be due to inflammations as well as cancerous growths etc. Hence, these opacities need further investigations for a definitive diagnosis and treatment including a biopsy of the lesion, if indicated.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
