Hi,
Welcome to HCM. I have gone through the question and understand your concerns.
There is no scientific basis for this type of treatments. In chronic illness like
diabetes and
asthma these treatment may be effective, as there is a lot of psychological aspects in these diseases.
Hypothyroidism in Indian settings ( iodine sufficient area) is mostly due to hashimoto's disease - a condition in which your thyroid is destroyed by body's on immunity. Here we get hypothyroidism when our thyroid is destroyed. No treatment option will restore it to normal. Even modern medicine that you are taking ( thyroid hormone) is not curing or arresting the disease process. It is only a replacement of the lost hormone. Once stopped the disease reappears.
All other system of medicine ( Ayurveda,
homeopathy,, ceragem) work with
iodine deficiency hypothyroidism. Here your thyroid gland is intact - only hormone production is decreased.
In your case the cause is congenital - for which only treatment available is
thyroxine replacement.
If you are still convinced about Ceragem therapy, do a thyroid function test, go for ceragem treatment and repeat thyroid function after 2 months, that will clear all your doubts. If the new treatment is effective, the function should still be normal.
Hope I have answered your questions. If you have any further queries I will be happy to help you.
