Are Throat Pain And Cough Symptoms Of STD?

Hi, last week I had a protected sex with a call girl. I used a condom while penetration. No lip kiss or any thing. After 1-2 days, I am having throat pain and little bit cough and cold. I have read some where that it is a symptoms of STD. Is it so? Do I need to do test for STD or HIV ? Is there any chance for HIV or any other STD?

Hi Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

No cough or throat pain are not symptom of any of Sexual transmitted disease or STD. These symptoms must be related to throat infection due to viral fever or infection of respiratory tract.
Chances of Sexual transmitted infection after having use condom as protection are very very rare. Therefore you should not worry about sexual transmitted infections & there is no need for test for STD or HIV. Also any STD doesnot show symptoms as early as 1-2 days.
You should take a cough syrup like benedryl. you should also do warm saline gargles, they would be helpful for throat inefction.

If problem persists, visit a physcian

Hope this information helps
