Are Torn Meniscus And Fractured Tibia Repairable At An Elderly Age?
Yes thanks, I got hit by a car as a pedestrian mar 1,the torn acl did not show up until Mri along with torn meniscus and fractured tibia. So I m doing physical therapy, since it was not as bad as it could of been can I hope for it to heal? Say too old for surgery 65.
Age alone is not a contra indication for surgery. But we have to consider any co-existing medical conditions and their level of control before anesthesia. Also, surgery may not be necessary always, depending on severity of injuries. Kindly discuss with your doctor.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
