If you do unprotected sex you have to do for 10 days from first day of your menses otherwise you will have to do it with protection so that you don't get pregnant.In your case since the cycles are irregular it will be difficult to calculate when ovulation occurs.

Take the 1st day of menstrual bleed as the 1st day of your menstural cycle. Then, 18 minus the duration of the shortest menstural cycle is the first fertile day of the present menstural cycle. Ten minus the duration of the longest menstural cycle is the last fertile day. Any day outside the fertile period is considered safe, but this method is not very accurate, with high rate of failure. I would suggest oral contraception/intrauterine device/condom use.
