Baby Has Lost Weight And Has Diarrhea. What Is The Cause? Due To Teething?
hi doctor! i have got a 10mnths old baby girl. she has diarrhea and i thought she was teething and she has lost weight from 9.4kgs to 9.1 kg in one month. Last week she started vomiting and we went to see a doctor and she was given some medication and we were advised to give her Oral Re hydration Solution. She is feeds with NAN 2 nestle during the day and also breast milk when i return home from work. What could be the problem
Hello linda,
If diarrhea is not associated with fever or crying then it is normal. Slight decrease in weight during the course of food changes are quite normal, nothing to worry.
9.1kg for a 10 month old girl is normal, but have a watch for further more decrease.
You can continue present feed, and give oral rehydration solution if your baby feel dehydrated and follow the medications provided by your pediatrician.
Bye
