Baby Having Recurring Infections. Limited Intake Of Food. Diagnosed With Hydronephrosis. Treatment?
My son is 11 months old he has been sick with reoccurring infections for over a month and a half now. 7 trips to the er dep and two admissions. He hasnt been eating or drinking very much in the past 3 days refuses all milk screams and cries for 2-3 hrs straight before bedtime or when hes not mobile. He now has cold sweats. Im concerned there might be something other then reoccurring infections. Mention also he has left hydronophrosis and megaureter
Hi ! The recurring infections are probably due to the pent up urine in mega ureter and hydronephrosis. Any kind of infection will make the baby irritable, and cry , specially with a back pressure on the kidney, which may also cause pain which the baby is unable to express. I would suggest you to visit a Peadiatric Urologist to get your baby reviewed who may initially consider surgical decompression of the back pressure in the kidney at the outset to save the kidney after stabilising the vitals in the baby, followed by further definitive treatment as per the need. I wish your son an early recovery.
