Baby Hurt Head, Large Knot On Head, High Fever. Reason For Fever?
My 4 year Los fell off a chair last night and het the back of her head on a bookcase. She cried and had a large knot on the back of her head. We kept an eye on her overnight and she seemed ok today but now suddenly has a 103.2 fever and is complaining that her head hurts and no other symptoms. Could this be related to her head?..
HI KATIE.
LOS APPEARS TO HAVE SUSTAINED A MINOR HEAD INJURY AND THE PAINFUL BUMP IS MOST LIKELY A TINY BIT OF BLOOD COLLECTION UNDER THE SKIN .IN ALL PROBABILITY THIS FEVER HAS NO DIRECT RELATION WITH HEAD TRAUMA .
CONTINUE OBSERVING HIM CLOSELY FOR NEXT 36 HRS OR SO .
CAN USE PANADOL SYP FOR FEVER & PAIN.
ANY CHANGE IN BEHAVIOUR, TOO SLEEPY TO WAKE, VOMITINGS OR PERSISTENT FEVER SHOULD BE THE REASONS TO SEE THE DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY.
WISH HIM SPEEDY RECOVERY
