Hi,

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

Your child developed loose stools mostly due to a virus or antibiotic associated.

Continue probiotic Enterogermina as advised.

Maintain and monitor hydration of the child.

Give sips of oral rehydration fluids to maintain hydration.

Zinc can be given in prescribed dose for 2 weeks.

Consult the pediatrician for reevaluation and treatment.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.

Hi

Thanks for choosing Health Care Magic

It seems you baby is suffering from drug induced diarrhea and the main culprit is Advent (antibiotic) given for fever and cold.

Advent consists of Amoxicillin and Clavulanic acid, these drugs sometimes causes diarrhea. This side effect is usually treated with probiotic and in your case it has already been prescribed (Enterogermine). As the infection has been controlled and antibiotic had been stopped after used for 5 days, it is advisable to continue using Enterogermine for couple of more days.

Medical test which can be done at this stage if not done before is stool examination. Other test like stool culture can also be done but with limited value.

It is important that to maintain hydration status of the baby oral rehydration therapy should be continued. If any signs of dehydration are noticed baby should be rushed to pediatrician. Signs of dehydration are drowsiness, thirsty, sunken eyes, absent tears, dry tongue, lost skin shine, rapid heart rate, rapid respiration and decrease urination.

Hope that answers your query.

Wishing your baby a quick recovery.

Take Care :)
