Back Pain After Using Electronic Cigarettes. Pain Between Spine And Shoulder. Allergy?
I experience back pain from electronic cigarettes. It s confusing but I m 100% sure they are the cause as I ve stopped using them and found the pain goes away. Whilst smoking real cigarettes, I experience no pain. The bases for electronic cigarette liquids are propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin . They also contain flavorings and nicotine . I ve experimented with many different flavors, an all PG base, an all VG base and low nicotine levels. All give me this pain. The pain is very localized and is right between my spine and my right shoulder blade. Please help me understand what this could be. E cigs are the only way I ve been able to consistently avoid smoking. Could this be an allergy to one of the bases? I have no other consistent symptoims.
I am not aware of any such allergic reactions from e-cigarettes, but since you are sure that the symptoms are related to e-cigarettes, it will be advisable to stop using them, rather than starting to smoke cigarettes.
E-cigarettes are easier to give up than conventional cigarettes. You may feel restless and irritable for a few days due to withdrawal, but it gets better with time. You can use some simple measures to control craving, like distracting yourself or eating/drinking some thing else. There is also the option of medications to reduce your craving for cigarettes.
Best wishes. Hope you are able to give up nicotine and live a healthy life.
I am not aware of such symptoms due to allergy to e-cigarettes, but since you are sure that the e-cigarette is the culprit, I would recommend that you give up e-cigarettes totally, rather than restarting smoking conventional cigarettes.
E-cigarettes are known to be easier to give up than the conventional ones. Although you may feel restless and irritable initially due to withdrawal, it gets better with time and you will be fine in a few days. You can also use some some simple strategies to control your craving for tobacco like eating/drinking something else, distracting yourself when there is craving. Also avoid company of people who smoke or places where cigarettes are sold, as it can act as a cue and lead to strong craving.
Best wishes for a nicotine-free life.
