Hello and welcome to hcm forum,

From the details produced its not clear whether the tooth is decayed or just green stains on it.
If it is decayed,or abrasion or gingival recession is associated, tooth coloured restorative material has to be used for filling.
Get thorough scaling done.
Please avoid vigorous brushing methods.
Use chlorhexidine mouthrinse to gargle.
Use soft interdental toothbrush and clean your teeth in back-forth and up-down motion.
Rinse your mouth after every meals.
Use desensitizing toothpaste to brush your teeth.
Avoid intake of acidic bevearages, alcohol, citrus fruits etc.
Hope this helps.

Hi,

Thanks for asking the query,

According to your clinical symptoms i suppose that your husband had developed infection of the tooth along with abscess formation, discolouration can due to trauma or infection.
I would suggest you to take him to the Dentist and get the checkup done, take an x-ray of the tooth to see the periapical condition, drainage of the pus is required.
Go for symptomatic treatment of complete mouth scaling and polishing.
If there is presence of infection the tooth can be treated with root canal treatment followed by prosthetic crown placement.
Maintain a good oral hygiene.
Use chlorhexidine mouthwash gargles twice daily.

Hope this helps out.

hi there
thanks for asking your query

history provided shows that the tooth is infected which has to be treated
wisdom tooth infection needs an extraction
eruption of wisdom is often followed by pain, swelling and discomfort
sometimes it didnt get enough space to erupt completely leading to partial impaction with overlying gum becoming inflamed a condition known as pericoronitis which gives discomfort and pain,if this impaction is misaligned then it should be extracted and if it is erupting in a normal straight path then the overlying gum should be incised so that it erupts easily
meanwhile maintain good oral hygiene
use antiseptic mouthwash
do saline water rinses
take analgesic and antibiotic cover for pain and infection
hope tis will help
thanks

Dear friend.

Thanks for sharing your concern.

Green colour is due to bacterial activity there in the mouth.

According to your history given it appears, it is erupting third molars, which is causing this infection.

Here i would advise you to see your dentist soon ,get an x ray done and if required get the tooth extracted.

This tooth neither serves the purpose of chewing nor esthetically required.

But, in turn it gives lots of problem as it erupts partially and harbours numerous bacterias, plaque and thus recurrent infection.

Therefore please get it examined and get it extracted.

Meanwhile do warm saline rinses ,upon your dentist advise you can start with antibiotics and analgesics.

This will reduce the infection there.

Hope it helps.

Thanks.

Take care.

Hello there ,

Thanks for writing your query,

Your symptoms of greenish presentation of tooth with pain are indicative of decayed tooth or an infected tooth.

Tooth decay is nothing but bacterial infection that spreads to the deeper structures of the tooth and involves the tooth nerve tissue leading to pulpitis.

When the tooth is grossly decayed, it becomes weak and gets fractured. We can save such infected and fractured tooth by root canal procedure, provided the periodontal status of the tooth is good. That is, if the tooth is not mobile.

Root canal procedure disinfects the tooth by removing the infected nerve tissue and the root canals are cleaned, shaped and filled with permanent restorative material.

Once the treatment is completed , the tooth can be restored by a post and core preparation with a prosthetic crown coverage.

so please consider getting the treatment done by consulting a dentist.

i hope this helps ,

take care.

Hi,
Thanks for writing,

Sorry to hear about the pain. In respect to your history the tooth seems to be grossly decayed. It would be required to visit a dentist and have a x-ray done for that tooth to confirm the diagnosis.

The treatment can vary from root canal procedure to extraction of the tooth. Depending on the access to the tooth and its clinical + radiological condition, this decision will be taken by your dentist. The upper third molars are usually extracted, in case they are decayed.

Stay healthy,
Thank you.

Thank you for your question.very last upper back tooth, may be it for wisdom tooth.as it is the back side tooth so difficult to clean properly by brushing,so food accumulates and infection results.so you need to have x-ray of that region and depending on the condition treatment should be done.for wisdom tooth it is better to go for extraction and for 1st or 2nd molar tooth ,root canal treatment can be done.for the time being you may take analgesic tablet and antibiotic to subside infection.you will get relief and after that you should visit dentist.wish you better health.

Hello there,

Thanks for writing your query.

As you said last back top tooth,it seems that he is having impacted wisdom tooth.

Impacted wisdom tooth eruption often associated with pain, swelling and difficult mouth opening.

And green discolouration of teeth may be because of continuous use of mouth wash.

So i would suggest you visit a dentist at the earliest and take a symptomatic treatment.

Maintain good oral hygiene, brush twice daily, rise your mouth after each meal thoroughly, get biannual dental check up done and use an antiseptic mouth wash and discontinue it after 15 day at least for a week to avoid staining of teeth.

Hope this will be helpful.

Take care.
