1.GLUCOSAMINE-a naturally occurring chemical found in the fluid around joints. It also plays a role in building tendons, ligaments, and
cartilage. Glucosamine supplements may increase the cartilage and fluid surrounding joints and help prevent their breakdown. Some research suggests that glucosamine can decrease joint pain about as much as the over-the-counter pain relievers such as
acetaminophen, ibuprofen, and naproxen. Glucosamine takes about 4 weeks to achieve any benefit. Glucosamine does not relieve pain in everyone who takes it, and many people see no benefit. Glucosamine has been reported to cause side effects including nausea,
heartburn, diarrhea, and
constipation.
2.CHONDROITIN SULPHATE is also a chemical that is found in cartilage in the body. chondroitin has been reported to cause stomach pain, nausea, diarrhea, constipation, leg swelling, hair loss, and irregular heartbeat.
3. HYALURONIC ACID- Hyaluronan (hyaluronic acid) is a substance found in the joints. Research shows that it may help relieve joint pain by acting as a cushion and lubricant when injected into the joint. SIDE EFFECTS unknown.
