Bad Moods During PMS, Mild Depression. Will Marvelon For Birth Control Make Me Gain Weight?

My doctor prescribed me a new birth control pill called Marvelon 28. I simply wanted to know if this pill will make me gain weight, or alter my moods. I have had a history of very bad moods swings during PMS . And have also been mildy depressed. Will this new pill make it worse? I was previously taking APRI, which i beleive is a copy of marvelon and i never had problems with it. But now i fear changing to another pill will cause side effects i really dont want.

Hi,
Thanks for the query.
Though there are no sufficient statistical evidences, some women can experience mood changes and weight gain due to the birth control pills.
So as you previously had the problem and as you are comfortable with your previous brand of contraceptive pills, better to continue that only.
If that previous brand is available and there is no specific reason to change to new brand beter to continue with the old one.
