Bad Taste In Throat, Thick Mucus, Bad Breath. IBS?
I have a really bad taste in the back of my throat, and thick mucus I can't really explain what it tastes like because I don't really know, but it's not metallic and it's not unbearable and my breath smells quite bad with it too, I've had it for 3 days now and it happens every time I go to swallow, it's very irritating, I do have irrital bowel syndrome and not sure if it has anything to do with that?
Thanks for posting your query. Mucus at the back of your throat and foul breath go in favour of infection in your sinuses. The postnasal drip or mucus in your throat is resulting from sinusitis. I would recommend you to take steam inhalations to liquefy the mucus. Take an antibiotic like amoxicillin and an antiallergic like cetirizine, in consultation with your doctor. Hopefully you should do well, since you have had it only for 3 days. If not better, you need a Specialist opinion for the same. Do let me know, if you have any further questions.
I THINK TO BE SINUSES AS IN SINUSES IF INFECTION OCCURS THE INFECTED POSTNASAL DRIP HA BAD SMELL AND SYMPTOMPS WRITTEN BY YOU GET SHORT COURSE OF METRONIDAOLE ANTI ALLERGIC TO DECREASE THE SECRETIONS IN SINUS NEOMYCIN H OINTMENT IN NOSE BD' SEA WATER 2 DROPS IN EACH NOSE AT NIGHT TO CLEAR THE NASOPHARYNX USE ANTACIDS GET XRAY PNS WATERS VIEW AND REAT BY CONSULTING ENT DOCTOR
Mucus in the throat can occur in either chronic sinusitis or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. You will need a Chest Xray PA view & Xray PNS OM view for proper diagnosis. Statistically 0.11% IBS patients may have similar symptoms mainly due to steroid induced infection of throat.
