Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Behaves Over Social, Imaginary Play. Semantic Pragmatic Disorder?
My son is 2 and a half. we are waiting for diagnosis, we think he has sigmantic pragmatic disorder as he fits the symptoms perfectly, the only area he does not fit is that he is often over social (he does not seem to get when a child does not want to play with him) this has changed as he used to ignore other chilren until about 4-5 months ago. he also has some imaginary play. does ths rule SPD out?
I went through your problem descriptions. I suggest, why, in the first you suspect that your child has Semantic pragmatic disorder? The Semantic pragmatic disorder is related to autism, Asperger syndrome or hyperlexia.
Let us wait for the diagnosis. Before concluding, please check with two or more psychiatrists / physicians. Your son is just 2 and half and still he can cope up with the help and nurturing you provide. He need love and affection and not diagnosis and medicines.
Hope you understand. Available for further clarifications. Good luck.
