Being Pregnant, Why Am I Having Gas And Pain While Passing Gas?
Hi, I am 10 weeks pregnant and I am experiencing lot of gas and flatulence which puts me into embarrassing situations. Sometimes I experience pain while passing gas. I work a night shift and makes it problematic. Can you suggest any meds for it which is safe during pregnancy.
I wouldn't recommend any medication. Bloating and flatulence is common during pregnancy. As an alternative you can try modifying your diet. Consume plenty of green leafy vegetables and fruits like banana and apple. Dietary fibres in these food will reduce bloating and regularise your bowel. Plus this will benefit your baby's health as well.
Keep yourself well hydrated by sipping on water throughout the day. Walk around a bit after food or when you are feeling uncomfortable. Consuming dried ginger is another home remedy.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Deepti Shivakumar
