Being Two Days Late For Periods, Why Did I Have Heavy Periods With Clots?

I was too days late for my period and now my Period is heavier with lots of clots and has been going for a day longer than normal. I normally have super light period that last for three days I'm on day number four with super red blood and lots of huge clots. Is this normal. I'm 21

Hello, from the history you have given, bleeding associated with lots of clots is a heavy bleeding. You did not mention wheather you are sexually active..Sometimes even stress causes heavy bleeding. But since you have lots of clots, I would suggest you to consult your gynaecologist, as heavy bleeding needs to be controlled and to rule out any underlying pathology. If necessary you may be prescribed antifibrinolytics to control the bleeding. Hope i was helpful to you.
