Hi...latest reports of biopsy states that "Section shows hyalinised fibrocollagenous fragments infiltrated by liner trabeculae, nests and ill defined glandular aggregates of pleomorphic and hyperchromatic cells with nucleo-cytoplasmic ratio and inconspicuous mitotic activity". Diagnosos says "right breast SOL: infiltrating ductal carcinoma, grade 1 (Score 5). Advised immunohistochemical work up (ER, PR, Her2 Neu, E-cadherin)". What does this mean. Is this directing towards dreast cancer?
Hi!
Yes the Biopsy report is positive for breast cancer of low grade.low grade breast cancers can be successfully treated and prognosis is good.
Immunohistochemical work up results will reveal whether the tumour is responsive to hormonal therapy and a targeted therapy can then be used for tratment.hope this will help you!take care!
