Bitten By Cat, Pus, Red And Inflamed Puncture Wounds. Tetanus Shot Received. Infection?

I got bit by my cat on my hand while trying to give him a bath. Went to the er and got a tetanus shot and some antibiotics ...however the one puncture wound is starting to have a thick white liquidy type of pus come out. The two puncture wounds are both red and inflamed....is there a possibility of still having an infection in the wound?

Hi,
Thanks for query,
You have infection of wound.
Heavy antibiotics like augmentin will work on it along with cleaning & dressing.
The risk of getting rabies from a cat is fairly low, with most cases of rabies now occurring in wild animals.
The animal quarantined and observed for 10 days if possible, or if you really think the animal could have had rabies and they can't find the cat to see if it has rabies, get human rabies immune globulin (HRIG) and beginning the first, in a series of five, rabies shots as soon as possible.
Thanks.
