Bitten By Horse On Neck, Open Wound Near Carotid Artery, Lump. Taking Augmentin. Cause Of Concern?
I was bitten by a horse a couple weeks ago on my neck . It was an open wound approximately 1/4 inch from my carotid artery . I was given Augmentin to take for 10 days, but now that the wound is closing up, I have noticed a large hard lump under the skin. There is no oozing coming out from the wound, but just wondering if the lump is something to be concerned about.

If there no bvious visible pulsation seen in the area of swelling then there is no cause for further concern it could just be a resolving blood clot.
