hello and welcome to HCM forum,
i would like to inform you that discoloration of the tooth is either due to tooth decay or due to staining.
i cannot check your tooth clinically, therefore according to the dental history presented by you it seems to be due to dental caries(decay).
To avoid the decay from spreading ,i advise you to see a dentist and get the tooth filled.
your dentist will remove the decayed portion and place a restoration (filling) on your tooth, it is a painless procedure therefore do not worry.
i hope i answered your query,
i wish you good health,
take care.
Hi,
Thank you for the query.
Discoloration of the tooth in black color at the edge suggests you are having dental caries which is spreading. See your dentist . Depending on the extent of spread of caries the dentist will decide the treatment. If it is wide spread then get an x-ray done to know the extent of the caries and the layers involved. If can be filled or restored with GIC or composite or silver amalgam accordingly.
Hope this information helps you.
Take care.
I would like to tell you that the black discolouration in the tooth is due to caries or staining.
I would suggest you to visit the Dentist and get the checkup done, take an x-ray of the tooth.
If it is caries in the tooth it can be filled and restored, your Dentist will remove the decayed portion and fill it with a restorative material it is a painless procedure so dont worry.
If it is due to staining go for symptomatic treatment of complete mouth scaling and polishing.
Maintain a good oral hygiene and use antiseptic mouthwash gargles twice daily.

hello most probable that discoloration is due to dental carries and since you dont complaint of any pain or senitivity so we can presume that pulp is still not involved what i would suggest that you visit your dentist , get a radiograph done and get that cavity restored as soon as possible hope that helps
hi... thanks for the query... it seems to be dental caries... visit your dentist for proper clinical and radiographic analysis... and get it filled... if left untreated it will result in its progression and can reach upto the pulpal tissue causing pain... in that case... it will require root canal treatment... so go for its treatment as soon as possible... take care...

Hi Welcome to HCM This blackish discoloration can be caries. As you don't have any symptoms so it can be arrested caries which is not progressing towards pulp. You need to get diagnosis done & get it restored before it progresses. Maintain your proper hygiene.
Take Care Regards Dr.Neha
