Black Spots On Child's Bottom, Applied Vaseline, Spots Removed, Redness Still There. What It Could Be?

I noticed earlier this week on my childs bottom 2 black spots with light pink around it. My friend told me to put some vaseline on it and i did. I just checked again now and the black spots are gone but the red is brighter and remained there, however the black spot relocated couple inches higher in perineal area. I tried to google but didnt find anything. Anyone knows what it could be?

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
From your description it seems to be an infected sebaceous gland or a hair follicle. A direct examination of the area will help in better diagnosis.
You can apply an antiseptic ointment like neosporin in the area.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
