Bled After Taking Plan B Due To Unprotected Intercourse. Should I Expect Another Periods Soon ?
I took Plan B on 05/27 just a few days after ending my period. I took it four hours after unprotected intercourse. I was told by someone I trusted with EC/birth control/pregnancy I had either just started ovulating or just ended. I was then told by someone else that I was not. I bled a week after taking the Plan B and am not sure if I should test, it's been 23 days since I took the Plan B however I was told that Plan B had "withdrawal bleeding" when talking with a "professional" she told me that Plan B didn't cause withdrawal bleeding. Should I expect a "period" soon or 28 days after I last bled? (06/01-06/03)
Hi, Emergency pill contains excess hormone enough to disrupt your hormonal milieu and this becomes the cause of the withdrawal bleed observed in so many people soon after the use of the period. As far as ovulation is concerned, if you have a 28-day cycle, you would normally ovulate on the 14th day, i.e., 14 days prior to the onset of next period. The span, 3-5 days prior to ovulation and 1-2 days after, is considered the fertile period and the rest is safe. You should consult a specialist if you do not get your normal period within 10-14 days after your due date. Hope this helps.
