Bleeding From Ear. Diagnosed Perforated Eardrum. Prescribed Antibiotics Drops. Feels Itch. What To Do?
my son had had flu and complained about pain in his ear at night when in the morning (monday) i took him to the doctor who gave him antibiotics but by afternoon his ear started bleeding we took him to the emergency but they couldnt see clearly in the ear but they said that they think its a perforated eardrum and gave some antibiotic drops. Yesterday the ENT especiallist confirmed that its a perforated eardrum and that i should continue with the antibiotics drops for 7 days the bleeding had stopped but now he is itching his ear and i can see blood stains in the ear again what should i do? please help me out im very worried
Your son seems to have had a condition called Acute otitis media (which is a recent infection of the middle ear cavity). This is commonly caused during or after an attack of flu. You have seen the ENT specialist yesterday and he/she has advised you to use antibiotics ear drops for 7 days. So in one day you will not be able to see results; has the specialist also given a pain relief medicine to your son? Do not worry, follow the doctor's advice; if there are any other new symptoms go back to see the doctor.
