Blisters, Swelling In Lip, Red Spots On Face After Being Splashed With Hot Oil. Need Tetanus Shot?
Th an k you my 39 YO daughter was splashed w hot oil last night to her face. Some blistering to her lower lip which she wiped off immediately resulting in swelling and an abrasion type look to her lip about 1/4 in. Ad she still has some small blisters underneath the abraded area. Se was using some silvidene on that as well as to other red spots about her face. I thought she should begin using triple antibiotic to her burns. What is your opinion? Does she need a tetanus shot? Her last was greater than 10 yrs ago. PS- I am a nurse
HI, YOUR DAUGHTER HAS SUPERFIFIAL BURNS. IT WILL BE BETTER IF YOU START ANTIBIOTICS AND ANTI INFLAMMATORY DRUGS.YOU CAN CONTINUE SILVIDENE.YES,SHE CERTAINLY REQUIRES TETANUS TOXOIDS INJECTION.
