Hi,
If you are confirmed with diabetes , you need clinical examination by diabetologist/
endocrinologist for any target organ damage, this includes kidney function test, thyroid profile ,
lipid profile ,eye check for any
retinopathy damage and glycosylated hemoglobin to know the 3 months status of blood sugar
You require
1) diabetic diet 1800kcal low
triglyceride diet ( to get from dietician)
2) oral drugs ( Oral hypoglycemic drugs are used only in the treatment of type 2 diabetes which is a disorder involving resistance to secreted insulin.
Type 1 diabetes involves a lack of insulin and requires insulin for treatment. There are now four classes of hypoglycemic drugs:
Sulfonylureas
Metformin
Thiazolidinediones
Alpha-glucosidase inhibitors
3) Insulins
4) regular exercise walking 30 minutes 5 days in a week
Decision of which drug to be started depends on your age ,weight and the above mentioned investigation based on which your treating doctor has to decide.
