Blood Clots In Legs, Purple Fingers, Dizziness. Taking Coumadin. Treatment?

I have a friend at my house who has blood clots in her legs. She takes Coumadin. All of a sudden we noticed that her fingers are turning purple. She feels dizzy. She IS breathing ok. Her face/lips and feet look fine. Anything we can do now? I'm having her call her MD now but she is at my house and want to be sure we do what we can.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
As per your description she is having Deep vein thrombosis. If such patient is complaining of bluish discolouration of finger it may be due to pulmonary embolism. It is an emergency, please consult any hospital if you can not get through her consultant.
