Hello Dr, My mother-in-law use to get blood in the morning while splitting slavia. This only happens in the morning when she wake up. We have checked with the Dr (MAX) and he told this is not the symp of TB as there are many sym of TB like high fever , cough , weightloss etc. But there isnt any such thing. There are many causes of coughing out of blood like TB, COPD, lung cancer, bronchiectasis, heart causes, ENT causes, A-V malformation and idiopathic.
With TB there are usually low grade fever, weakness, anorexia, weight loss
But before coming to any diagnosis i will suggest you to atleast have a chest x-ray (PA view) to find out any lesion. If there is sputum production you should have sputum smear examination for acid-fast bacilli for two consecutive days. Consult a pulmonologist and get locally examined. If palpitation, paroxysmal nocturnal dyspnea is associated with it then chances of heart diseases are increased. So primarily consult a pulmonologist and take his opinion.
