Blood In Urine After Physical Strain. No Pain. Need Treatment?

I am 51 year old male, 6' about 270 lbs. I went to a water park a couple of days ago and went down slides hitting the water really hard as expected. today I noticed my urine appears as if it has blood in it -- dark brownish color. There is no pain and never have experienced this before. I do not have a normal doctor as I live out of the U.S. and am back visiting.

Hello,
You went to the water park and hit the water very hard 2 days back. You were alright for 2 days. Today only you are passing dark brown colored urine. So it is not acute bleeding (frank red color). You don't have painful urination. So the possibility of urinary tract infection may not be there, because UTI can also produce similar color urine.
Probably a mild clot anywhere in the urinary tract getting dislodged and diluted with urine may produce a color like this. You have to follow this.
1) Observe the urine for any fresh bleeding (whenever you pass urine) If so observe whether the bleeding is to start with, middle or end of urination.
2) Once you reach your home town do a complete urine analysis including pus cells and RBC. If pus cells are more do a urine culture and sensitivity
3) USG of abdomen to assess the kidney, ureter, bladder and prostate, if indicated urethra also.
Meanwhile, take plenty of water and if possible barley rice water.
I don't expect any problem, but getting cleared is better
With warm regards

hello sir, what you experienced is probably physiologic hematiuria which may occur after a physical activity like the one you did. however, you may see any medical doctor for proper evaluation if it persists. thanks
