Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic
To determine the reason for the blood in the urine (
hematuria), your mother's doctor would take a history to determine if there are any symptoms of infection, history of trauma,
abdominal pain,
weight loss, bleeding disorders.
Investigations would include a urine analysis, urine should also be sent to the lab to confirm the blood, look for any other particles and check for evidence of infection.
Additional tests may include a full blood count and blood chemistry profile.Imaging such as an
ultrasound may be necessary.
In terms of the
bloating and increase passage of air, treatment involves: determining if she is lactose intolerant, reducing use of carbonated drinks, reducing use of vegetables associated with excess air production (brussel sprouts, beans, turnips, potato, broccoli), treatment of GERD (gastroesophageal reflux) if present- with medication and lifestyle changes.
I hope this helps
