I fainted last night and I got my blood sugar level taken which was 1.5 and the nurse told me that i needed to get a doctors appointment to see about it. I had eaten that day but not much and I was drinking lucozade that night, should it be that low when I m not diabetic ?
Hello there,
Welcome to HealthcareMagic. As you mentioned, blood sugar levels of 1.5 mmol/l = ~ 27 mg/dl is severely low.Such low levels are generally seen in Diabetic patients, which you are not, or probably undiagnosed. So you can get your HbA1c levels checked. Else in pts with hypersecretion of Insulin (hormone)/Insulinoma , in which it is better to find out blood insulin levels. Also there are drugs like quinine/ Pentamidine which bring down your sugar levels. At times, though rare, extreme starvation brings down sugar level. So I would suggest you consult with physician and get thoroughly evaluated.Take care.
