Blood Test Done. What Does The Report Says?
Hi, Thanks for your query. I shall request you not to read a report in isolation but in conjunction with the symptoms, physical findings by the doctor which are then corroborated or excluded by the investigations. Nevertheless I shall try to explain the reports. ANA means anti-nuclear antibody and is usually positive in rheumatoid like conditions or auto-immune conditions. IgM are the antibodies which are formed first after any infection and over a period of time their levels fall while levels of IgG rise. Hence the person in question had Ebstein Barr Virus and Cytomegalo Virus (CMV) infection some time back. Rheumatoid factor is negative if the standard for the lab shows the normal value to be I shall not comment on the value of C-Reactive Protein (CRP) or Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) as the normal reference value for the lab is not mentioned. I suggest you consult the treating physician who shall interpret the reports in light of the history and clinical examination done by him. Wishing you the best.
