Hi, I got my blood test result today and there is some for me about it 1. My VPM is 9.7 though is says that the normal value is about 10-13 .... What it is? And is there a problem with this abnormality or not 2. In urine test, it shows blood +++ and leukocyte estèrase + as well .... Is there a serious problem ? Or there is any possibility for other problems 3. And about the ferritin my result shows 8 ug/l though the normal value it says is about 20-155
Hello and welcome to HCM, The interpretation blood and urine report is as follows: 1. The level of hemoglobin and ferritin is below normal range. These findings suggest that you are suffering from anemia and that is due to iron deficiency. Iron tablets have to be taken for atleast 90 days to restore the iron stores. 2. Presence of blood in urine may be due to trauma to the urinary tract, infection, etc. An increase in leukocyte esterase levels suggests bacterial infection in the urinary tract. The next step is to get an urine culture to isolate the organism causing the infection. Drug sensitivity can be done to know the most appropriate antibiotic effective against the infective organism.
