Bluish Bruises On The Leg After A Game. Strained Hamstrings?

Hi, I'm a 40 year old male.
Played Old Man's softball about a week ago for the first time in a long time.
Strained both hamstrings a little along with one calf.
I know I need to stretch more before and after each game.
I'm now 5 days removed from this and I've got pretty big black & blue marks behind both knees.
Could these be from the strained hamstrings or something more serious?
Thanks for any help or advice your may have.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The bruises without any history of a direct injury to the area could be related to a soft tissue sprain or a muscle sprain. Rest, hot fomentation, keeping the leg elevated and avoiding weight bearing will be helpful.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. You can consult me again directly through my profile URL http://bit.ly/Dr-Praveen-Tayal
