Boil On The Face. Pain While Swallowing. Had Staph Infection In The Past. Could This Be The Same?
Sure and thank you. My fiancee went to the emergency room with what appeared to be a boil on her face. she had a staph infection several years ago when she was in an institution. It was in her underarm . The boil or cyst was about golf ball sized. they lanced it removed the cyst sack. Gave her a shot and 10 days of bactrim and another antibiotic. That was Wednesday, today she reports she is having pain when swallowing . food, liquids, hot or cold and taking the medicine is unpleasant. She says the pain is akin to when you get food or liquid while breathing. very uncomfortable. she has a high tolerance for pain, so the fact that she mentioned it is pretty significant.
Hi.
Boil on her face doesn't lead to symptoms like pain when swallowing food. Most probably, she might have acquired with Throat infection/Upper respiratory tract infection. As the breathing is uncomfortable,it might have spread to lungs/lower respiratory tract.
You didnt mention whether she is having cough or not.If at all it is present, whether it is associated wit sputum?
Please consult your local doctor immediately as the acute condition which is present now may turn chronic and it may take long time to get cured.
All the best.
