My husband is diabetic and about 5 days ago he started complaining about some bumps on the inside of his leg that were paining him. He is 65 yr old and this is the 1st time he s had anything like this. It looks like a great big pimple and some of it busted and just dark red blood came out. The one on the inside of his left leg has left a hole about the size of a pea and I put neosperm on it. The one on his left leg did bleed but not bad. Also use alcohol on them to stop the bleeding . What else do I need to do
Welcome to Healthcare Magic He could be having severe infection of the skin called furuncle. This requires proper antibiotic management after culture and sensitivity of the pus because it could be multi-drug resistant infection. Do not do anything with the lesions, do not prick them. Do not apply alcohol. Apply pressure with a sterilised gauze/cotton to stop the bleeding. Antibiotic ointment will help like Bactroban/Fucidin. Check his blood sugar. Keep his blood sugar under control. Get him to the ER and get it looked at for proper therapy.
