Born With Imperforated Anus And Fistula. Done Corrective Surgery. Had Diaper Dermatitis, Hairs Growing Around Anus
My daughter was born with an imperforated anus and fistula, she had corrective surgery at one month old. She is now over two. Up until about a month ago she has had erosive diaper dermatitis and now have that under control. She is taking an immune support and probiotic daily and we are cleaning her bottom with cotton balls and mineral oil and putting an ointment of zinc oxide, petroleum jelly and corn starch on her bottom. We have been treating her bottom as described for a month now. Just today I noticed dark hairs growing around her anus (she is a very light haired little girl). Is this normal? I m concerned about the hairs and wondering if I should be. Will the hairs continue to grow?
Though growth of hair does take place around the anus but it is unusual at 2 years of age. They should not grow more than a few millimetres in length and you should not worry about them. Nevertheless it is better to show her to the treating doctor to have a better opinion.
