Both Legs And Hands Are Numb. Burning Feeling Around Back Of Neck. Nausea And Hiccups. Cause?

My niece is in the hospital as we speak with a team of doctors trying to find out why she is so ill. I am hoping someone has heard of these symptoms in someone else they have helped. Her symptoms are:
Both legs are numb (left leg numb, right leg no feeling as of today)
Both hands are numb (Left hand numb, right hand burny numb)
Very Burning feeling around the back of her neck which moves down to her shoulders.
Left side tingling on and off
Much nausea
Much Hiccups but taking medication to slow them down.

The numbness and the burning feeling that you have can be due to an electrolyte imbalance, vitamin B12 deficiency, hypothyroidism, diabetes, etc. Do get these ruled out with proper blood tests.
