Bruise On Pubic Bone, Growing In Size. What Should I Do?
Hi, I have a bruise to the upper left of my pubic bone. I ran into the corner of a table and the bone and sharp corner of the table seem to have given me a deep bruise or cut which I fear is internal bleeding . The bruise is growing in size, but not terribly rapidly. Over a period of three days it has grown in size. I am going to seek medical assistance now, but I m wondering what I should expect. I am an American currently living outside of the US and want to make sure this situation is handled correctly.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Hi,
Bruise over pubic bone growing in size could be due to collection of blood which might get spreads due to effect of gravity. If it increases rapidly and warmth to touch, it indicates the possibility of get infected. I suggest it to get it evaluated to rule out any infection. Meanwhile apply cold packs over the bruise and you can take anti-inflammatory drug like motrin to reduce pain and inflammation.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and informative and I will be glad to answer any further query.
