Bruised Painful Toe, Peeling Skin. Normal?

I think I may have broken my middle toe three weeks ago when I dropped a box of floor tiles on it. I ve heard there s really not much a doctor can do for a broken toe , so I haven t gone to the doc. Toe is not flopping in the breeze or crooked or anything, otherwise I would go to the doc. It s still a little bruised and painful, but now today the top layer(s?) of skin peeled off the whole toe! Toenail is still hanging on and don t think I ll lose it, but is the skin peeling normal??!

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
After a swelling subsides, peeling of the skin from the area is normally seen. You can do the strapping of the toe- keep it bandaged with the next healthy toe for a supported movement and an early recovery. It is likely to improve in 3-4 weeks.
